Chelsea Space is pleased to host an exhibition inspired by the book Plot, by Claudia Rankine, the award-winning poet, essayist, playwright and Visiting Professor at Chelsea College of Arts. Hailed as the book that crowned the first phase of Rankine's writing career in 2001, Plot is an inventive and engrossing meditation on pregnancy and the changes it heralds: the potential bodily cost, the loss of self, the sense of impending stasis. Plot will be republished by Penguin on 30 March 2023.

Connecting to and inspired by intersecting themes arising from Plot, a selection of artworks by international artists, writers, and poets invited by Claudia Rankine, including Jen Bervin, Pedro Bonnin, Erin Caskey, Sandra Harper, Stephanie Hightower, Baseera Khan, Bruce Pearson, Maira Senise, Mercedes Teixido are on display alongside artworks by Chelsea College of Arts final year BA Fine Art, Graduate Diploma Fine Art, and MA Fine Art students. In addition to participation from Camberwell, Chelsea and Wimbledon Colleges of Arts Subjectivity and Feminisms research group.

Coordinated by Chelsea Space, Richard Ducker and Elizabeth Peebles, Senior Lecturer Fine Art, Chelsea College of Arts, UAL. With thanks to Claudia Rankine, Emily Skillings, Ana Paula Simoes.
